“Joyous moment” is my largest painting I’ve ever painted and it’s also the first painting I recorded painting process. Although, I called this painting “Joyous moment” but I started the painting with pressure and dark feeling as I always activate blank canvas. It turned out to be dark red painting. I put it aside for 4-5 days, didn’t know what to do with it. Then I found a page in my sketchbook that I really like so I translated it into this painting.
I always keep sketchbook with me. I paint acrylics as basement and use oil pastels and pencils that I carry around with me to make marks. I followed the same process with this painting. I started with cadmium red, lighter pink and white. Then I made marks with smaller brush, soft pastel and pencil.
It was very fun and flow process. Everything just fall into its places. I even imagined this painting in girl nursery as you can see in below mockup. That’s why I called it “Joyous moment”. This painting is still available. Let me know if you are interested. 🙂
